Upcycling is my thing, if I have a few planks of timber hanging around for long enough they will get used for something. So when planning a chippy looking buffet, my immediate thought is: Upcycle! Recycle! Noise and Mess! ...and a little bit of she'll be right mate thrown in.
When we bought Milla's big bed a while ago, it came with bed slats that were about an inch too short... not helpful. Anyways, drama, drama. My lovely father-in-law came to the rescue, a trip to the hardware shop and a bit of chop-chop later and we have new bed slats.
I have stored the old bed slates for, wow, time flies! TWO years? What!? When did that happen? Ok, so back to the story. A bazillion bed slats in the shed, add in a dismantled pallet and a few screws...

(Not a How-To, but feel free to follow the photos as a guide)
I obviously always have help.... even if he's just playing guitar with my off cuts.
Ha! Still in my PJs.
Main frame from bed slats
(I've been using them when I painted other projects, hence their awesome drips, marks and colours)
Add a little pallet wood top
Add a pallet wood bottom shelf and there we have it!

Next will be the painting!! FUN!!
